On Saturday, the Red Army side were two goals up but were pegged back to finish 2-2 by Terek Grozny to remain two points behind leaders Zenit St Petersburg.
"It's a very disappointing result," said CSKA manager Leonid Slutsky. "Everything went well, we were in control but we lost concentration and allowed them (Terek) to score twice. I'm very upset."
CSKA grabbed the lead through Brazilian striker Vagner Love, who cut his 13-match scoreless streak sending the ball home with a six-yard header from Alan Dzagoev's well-struck freekick.
Ivory Coast forward Seydou Doumbia made it 2-0 for CSKA two minutes into the second half, also scoring with a header from Serbian midfiedler Zoran Tosic's cross.
But the visitors pulled level when midfielders Alexander Pavlenko and Brazilian Mauricio scored one apiece within two minutes.
Trabzonspor are the early Group B leaders in Europe after taking four points from their first two matches -- a 1-0 win at Inter Milan and a 1-1 home draw with French outfit Lille.
Trabzonspor have never met a Russian club before, while CSKA beat Besiktas twice 2-1 both home and away in the Champions League group stage two years ago.
On Tuesday CSKA will still be missing a host of injured, first-choice players including Japanese midfielder Keisuke Honda, Chilean winger Mark Gonzalez, defender Georgy Shchennikov and Czech forward Tomas Necid.
Goalkeeper Igor Akinfeyev is also out for at least six months with a serious knee injury.
CSKA are last in Group B with one point from two games.
